IRAS Day Celebrated at North Western Railway

The North Western Railway celebrated IRAS Day (Indian Railway Accounts Service Day) today at the Umang Club, Jaipur. The event’s chief guest was Mrs. Rashmi Kapoor, a retired IRAS officer.

During the ceremony, Principal Financial Advisor (PFA) Geetika Pandey highlighted the significant and leading role played by the Accounts Department of North Western Railway in ensuring financial discipline, transparency, and efficient as well as economical utilization of resources.
She stated that the IRAS cadre functions as a strong “Think Tank” for the Railways, contributing extensively not only to financial management, budgetary control, audit compliance, and revenue enhancement but also to key policy-level decisions.




Technical Sessions Focus on DLC Campaign and National Security

In the technical session, informative presentations were delivered on the Digital Life Certificate (DLC) campaign and the contribution of Indian Railways to defence and strategic security.
These presentations shed light on the Railways’ commitment to social responsibility, pensioners’ welfare, and critical aspects of national security.




Active Participation by Serving and Retired IRAS Officers

Serving as well as retired IRAS officers from headquarters and divisions actively participated in the event. They reiterated their commitment to contributing towards the growth, financial strength, and improved service delivery of Indian Railways, particularly the North Western Railway.

IRAS officers including Mr. Rupesh Singhvi, Mrs. Nistha Puri, Mr. Vishnu Bajaj, Mrs. Tarika Roy, and Mr. V. S. Meena were prominently present.
The ceremony concluded on a pleasant note with a musical performance.
