Jaipur.
Prem Nagar, located on Khativura Road, Jhotwara, is currently facing a series of serious civic problems. Speaking to the media, Anil Kumar Bohra, President of the Prem Nagar Vikas Samiti, expressed deep concern over the deteriorating condition of the area and alleged that administrative negligence has made daily life difficult for residents.
He highlighted two issues that require urgent attention — the gas depot situated in the middle of the residential area and the municipal corporation’s failure to collect garbage on time.
Gas Depot a Major Threat — “Constant Risk in a Densely Populated Area”
The committee pointed out that the gas depot, located right in the center of Prem Nagar, poses a serious danger to the surrounding population.
According to Bohra, the continuous movement of gas cylinders, loading and unloading activities, and negligence in following safety norms have created a daily risk of a major accident.
Bohra demanded—
“This gas depot in the middle of Prem Nagar must be removed immediately. It should be shifted to a safer location, otherwise a major accident can happen at any time.”
Sanitation System Collapses — Municipal Corporation Fails to Collect Garbage on Time
Bohra also raised strong objections to the poor sanitation management by the municipal corporation.
He said that garbage collection vehicles do not arrive for several days, causing waste to pile up in streets, lanes, and open plots. The foul smell, mosquitoes, and stagnant water have increased the risk of diseases.
He added—
“Despite repeated complaints, the corporation does not collect garbage on time. Many streets have not been swept for months.”
Committee Warns of Protest if No Action Taken
Issuing a warning, Bohra said that if the administration does not take immediate action,
“the committee and local residents will be forced to launch a major protest.”
He expressed hope that the authorities would prioritize the issues of Prem Nagar and initiate prompt measures to resolve them.
