RLD Organizes Grand Kisan Diwas Event in Jaipur on 123rd Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Chaudhary Charan Singh Deliberations Held on Farmers’ Rights and Empowerment

On the occasion of the 123rd birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna awardee, former Prime Minister and champion of farmers, Late Chaudhary Charan Singh, the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), Rajasthan organized a special programme to mark National Farmers’ Day at the Pink City Press Club Auditorium in Jaipur.

The programme was chaired by RLD Rajasthan State President Shri Joginder Singh Awana. Meaningful and thought-provoking discussions were held on farmers’ rights, dignity and empowerment.


National General Secretary (Organisation) Shri Trilok Tyagi attended the programme as the Chief Guest, while senior social worker and philanthropist Shri Vijay Poonia was present as the Special Guest.



At the beginning of the programme, Shri Trilok Tyagi paid floral tributes to the portrait of Bharat Ratna Late Chaudhary Charan Singh. State office-bearers, district presidents and party workers were present in large numbers.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Trilok Tyagi recalled the historic contribution of Chaudhary Charan Singh and said that he gave a new direction to the nation with the slogan “Rural India is the real India.” He emphasized that Chaudhary Charan Singh firmly believed that true national development begins from villages and agriculture, and he always stood for the rights of farmers, labourers and the poor.






Shri Tyagi said that Chaudhary Charan Singh worked to unite people of all castes and sections of society. He was among the first leaders to highlight the need for toilets in villages and initiated welfare schemes such as Food for Work. For the welfare of farmers, he even gave up the prestigious post of Home Minister, reflecting his unwavering principles and commitment.

He added that RLD, while being part of the NDA alliance, continues to raise a strong voice for farmers, labourers and the underprivileged, and will keep doing so in the future. He announced that RLD will organise seminars across all districts of Rajasthan to propagate the ideology and policies of Chaudhary Charan Singh.

RLD Rajasthan State President Shri Joginder Singh Awana, in his address, said that the party’s growth in the state is possible only when every worker performs his duties with honesty, dedication and commitment. He informed that the birth anniversary celebrations of Chaudhary Charan Singh will be organised as a seven-day programme across all districts of Rajasthan to take his farmer-centric ideology to the grassroots.

Youth leader Surjit Chaudhary and other speakers also highlighted the historic contributions of Chaudhary Charan Singh for farmers and described his ideas as highly relevant even in the present times.
