Photography Workshops, Miniature Painting, Studio Visits and Contemporary Art Dialogues Captivate Audiences Jaipur Art Week Day Four Marks a Confluence of Art, Dialogue and Experimentation

 


Jaipur, January 30.

The fourth day of Jaipur Art Week witnessed a vibrant celebration of art, culture and creative experimentation across the city. A series of workshops, panel discussions and studio visits held from morning till evening saw enthusiastic participation from artists, students and art enthusiasts.



The day began at a UNESCO World Heritage Site with the photo walk titled “The Street as Studio.” Starting from Golcha Cinema, the unique workshop was led by internationally acclaimed photographer Jérôme De Perlinghi, who introduced participants to the nuances of portrait photography in public spaces. Through black-and-white photography, participants explored urban life, human emotions and public interaction.



Midday sessions drew special attention at Pink City Studio, where the session “Miniature Painting: Practice, Process and Dialogue” was conducted by artists Riyaz Uddin and Pascal Ungerer. The discussion focused on the ideas, techniques and evolving processes of contemporary miniature painting. Simultaneously, a studio visit at Ghanerao House offered participants an immersive experience into the creative world of artist Rohini Singh.


At the Rajasthan International Centre, the workshop “Portfolio Building: Foundation of a Professional Art Practice” provided emerging artists with valuable guidance on international opportunities, artist statements and professional presentation. The session was facilitated by Jim Ramer and Radha Dutta.


Evening sessions featured the workshop “Analog Interaction with Light Art” at Alankar Gallery, Jawahar Kala Kendra, where artist Ansh Kumar showcased light and projection mapping as a creative medium. Meanwhile, a panel discussion titled “Photography and Criticism in the Age of AI” at the Rajasthan International Centre sparked meaningful dialogue on the evolving relationship between art and technology. The panel included Jérôme De Perlinghi, Jim Ramer, Elizabeth Haskin and Oh Soon-Hwa.

Additionally, a Macramé Mini Lamp Craft Workshop held at Gyan Museum allowed participants to create functional art pieces using traditional handicraft techniques.
