State-Level Painting Competition Successfully Organized by Powergrid; Students from Across Rajasthan Display Creative Talent

The state-level painting competition for school students in Rajasthan, jointly organized by Powergrid Corporation of India Limited and the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, Government of India, was successfully held at the Rajasthan International Centre, Jaipur. The event aimed to spread awareness about energy conservation among schoolchildren. Shri Abhinav Verma, Executive Director (In-charge, Powergrid Rajasthan Projects), presided over the programme and also felicitated the winners.



The competition commenced in the morning session, where participants from various districts across the state were given an on-the-spot theme based on energy conservation. Students expressed their thoughts creatively through paintings. After the inauguration, Shri Abhinav Verma visited the exhibition area, observed the displayed paintings, and appreciated the creativity and imagination of the young artists.




During his address, Shri Verma stated that under the guidance of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, Government of India, Powergrid has been playing a major role for years as the state’s nodal agency in successfully conducting school and state-level competitions. This initiative has been continuously inspiring the younger generation towards energy conservation



Following a cultural programme in the afternoon, the prize distribution ceremony was held. In Group A (Classes 5 to 7) and Group B (Classes 8 to 10), first, second and third prizes of ₹50,000₹30,000, and ₹20,000 respectively were awarded. Ten participants from each group also received incentive prizes of ₹7,500 each. All students were also presented with merit or participation certificates issued by the Ministry of Power.




In Group A, the first prize went to Mansvi Naruka, the second prize to Aakriti Yadav from Ajmer, and the third prize to Rudra Maheshwari from Jaipur. In Group B, the first prize was awarded to Sonam Kanwar from Jaipur, the second prize to Himanshi Modi from Jaipur, and the third prize to Anshika from Pilani. All participants were provided participation kits and travel facilities as per competition guidelines. The artworks were evaluated meticulously by a jury comprising art experts and government officials. Arrangements for meals and refreshments were also ensured for all students and their parents.


In the first round, out of nearly 38,000 participants from 272 schools across the state, 100 students were selected for the state-level competition. The winners from both groups will now represent Rajasthan at the National Level Painting Competition to be held in New Delhi in December 2025. Travel and accommodation for the students and their guardians participating at the national level will be sponsored by the nodal agency, Powergrid.


This initiative marks a significant step in strengthening Powergrid’s national commitment towards energy conservation, environmental responsibility, and sustainable development.
