Jaipur Craft Festival organized a panel discussion at the Indian Institute of Crafts & Design on the theme “Design & Craft Brands – Future Possibilities and Expansion.” The event witnessed active participation from students, entrepreneurs, design professionals, and representatives from the startup ecosystem.
The discussion focused on strengthening craft-based enterprises through strategic branding, sustainable practices, and innovation-driven growth models. Experts emphasized the need to integrate traditional crafts with modern design sensibilities and global market strategies.
Emphasis on Sustainable Fashion and Brand Development
Prachi Seksaria stated that slow fashion is not merely a trend but a necessity for the future. She highlighted the importance of responsible production and conscious consumerism in shaping sustainable craft brands.
Raunak Singh Mohnot shared his experience in building a design-led brand, underscoring that market understanding and consumer behavior analysis are crucial for scaling craft enterprises.
Role of Incubation and Policy Support
Dharmendra stressed the importance of research-based design education and structured incubation support for emerging entrepreneurs.
Dhaval Singhal elaborated on the role of Rajasthan’s startup ecosystem, including policy support, investor networks, and partnership models in fostering innovation and business expansion.
The session was moderated by Pinky Jain, who emphasized women’s economic empowerment as a key driver of social transformation. She also shared her experiences of working with rural women entrepreneurs.
The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where students and young entrepreneurs engaged enthusiastically with the panelists.
