Jaipur: Ahead of the upcoming municipal corporation elections, the Agarwal community has demanded adequate political representation from political parties. A program was organized by Maharaja Agrasen Pradeshiya Mahasabha in which community representatives urged political parties to allot at least 20 tickets to members of the Agarwal community in the Jaipur Municipal Corporation elections.
The event was attended by Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari as the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, State President Radheshyam Agarwal said that a large number of Agarwal community members live in Jaipur and they have been playing a significant role in trade, industry, social service and public welfare for decades. However, the community has not received political representation in proportion to its presence.
State General Secretary CA Sanjay Gupta said that the Agarwal community has considerable influence in several wards of Jaipur. He emphasized that at least six tickets should be allotted to the community from the Vidhyadhar Nagar area, where the community has a strong presence.
During the event, newly elected office-bearers of the community were also felicitated. Leaders present on the occasion reiterated their commitment to work together for the unity and welfare of the Agarwal community.
State Treasurer Rajendra Agarwal, Chief Convener Pankaj Goyal, and Co-Convener Sanjay Sirsila also addressed the gathering. Through the media, community representatives appealed to all political parties to prioritize qualified, clean-image and socially committed candidates from the Agarwal community while distributing tickets in the Jaipur municipal elections so that the community’s voice can be effectively represented in the municipal body and contribute to the city’s development.
