Blue Star Limited unveils comprehensive Unitary Cooling range to drive next phase of growth

Jaipur, April 21, 2026: Blue Star Limited has announced the launch of its new range of Room Air Conditioners for Summer 2026, strengthening its presence across India’s residential and commercial cooling segments. The comprehensive portfolio includes 125 models, featuring a flagship premium lineup, designed to cater to diverse customer needs and usage environments.

All models comply with the new standards set by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), effective January 1, 2026, reinforcing the company’s focus on energy-efficient, high-performance cooling solutions.

India’s room AC market is witnessing strong structural growth, driven by rising incomes, rapid urbanisation, and increasing climate intensity. The segment is projected to grow from around 14 million units to nearly 30 million units by FY30, with Tier 3, 4, and 5 markets emerging as key growth drivers.

The new portfolio comprises inverter, fixed-speed, and window ACs across multiple price points. A key highlight is the ‘Iconia’ premium range, introduced in an elegant Midnight Silver finish, targeting discerning consumers.

The company has also introduced flagship categories such as Super Energy-Efficient ACs, Heavy-Duty ACs, Hot & Cold ACs, and ACs equipped with Anti-Virus Technology. The Super Energy-Efficient range features Dynamic Drive Technology, enabling a 1TR inverter split AC to achieve an ISEER of 6.25—around 45% more efficient than a typical 3-star inverter AC.

Heavy-Duty ACs are engineered to perform in extreme heat up to 56°C, with an air throw of up to 55 feet, while Hot & Cold ACs ensure year-round comfort and can operate in temperatures as low as -15°C. The Anti-Virus Technology ACs enhance indoor air quality by filtering harmful microbes and particulates, with an added air purification mode.

Nearly 50 models are Smart WiFi-enabled, offering AI-driven adaptive cooling, voice commands, customised sleep modes, and energy management features. Advanced features such as multi-layer filtration, convertible cooling, self-clean and defrost-clean technology, DigiQ Octa Sensors, and Nano BluProtect ensure enhanced performance and durability. The company also offers a lifetime warranty on inverter compressors and a five-year warranty on PCBs, along with attractive financing options.

Manufacturing Expansion:

To support growing demand, Blue Star has expanded its manufacturing footprint with a current capacity of 1.4 million units, scalable to 1.8 million units. Its facilities include a state-of-the-art plant in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, and two plants in Himachal Pradesh, equipped with automation, IoT integration, and advanced assembly systems.

Sustainability and R&D:

The company continues to invest in R&D infrastructure, incorporating eco-friendly refrigerants and energy-efficient technologies aligned with evolving environmental standards, while leveraging innovation and digitalisation.

Distribution and Service Network:

Blue Star has a strong pan-India presence across 900 towns, with over 10,000 retail outlets and a robust after-sales network supported by more than 2,100 service partners under its ‘Gold Standard Service’ programme.

Commercial Refrigeration Portfolio:

Alongside ACs, the company offers a wide range of commercial refrigeration products including deep freezers, visi coolers, cold rooms, supermarket refrigeration systems, and healthcare refrigeration solutions such as ultra-low temperature freezers and vaccine transporters. These cater to sectors like food retail, dairy, pharmaceuticals, hospitality, and healthcare.

Outlook:

Managing Director B Thiagarajan stated that India’s cooling demand is at a critical inflection point, with nearly 150 million households expected to afford air conditioners in the coming years. He added that the new Unitary Cooling range positions Blue Star strongly to capitalise on this growth and lead the next phase of demand across both residential and commercial segments.
