Art Dubai 2026 officially opened today at Madinat Jumeirah, launching a landmark 20th anniversary edition that celebrates two decades of artistic growth, cultural exchange, and creative transformation across the UAE and the wider region.
Running from 15–17 May 2026, with a special preview held on 14 May, this year’s edition presents more than 100 gallery presentations, institutional collaborations, exhibitions, installations, performances, screenings, and talks, bringing together leading voices from the international and regional art world.
Held under the patronage of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the event highlights Dubai’s growing position as a global cultural and creative hub.
This special edition reflects Art Dubai’s 20-year journey of supporting artists, galleries, collectors, and institutions while contributing to the long-term development of the Middle East’s creative economy. The fair continues to bridge regional artistic practices with global conversations through contemporary, modern, and digital art presentations.
The programme features collaborations with some of the UAE’s leading cultural institutions, including Alserkal Avenue, Art Jameel, Barjeel Art Foundation, Sharjah Art Foundation, Dubai Collection, and Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.
Highlights of the programme include large-scale installations, site-responsive artworks, moving image screenings, performance-led presentations, and the return of Art Dubai’s flagship Global Art Forum titled “Before and After Everything.”
Several internationally recognised artists and creatives are participating in this year’s edition, including Khalid Al Banna, Hashel Al Lamki, Kevork Mourad, Yaw Owusu and Sudarshan Shetty.
Speaking about the anniversary edition, Benedetta Ghione, Executive Director of Art Dubai Group, described the event as “more than a conventional art fair,” emphasizing its role as an international platform for cultural dialogue and creative collaboration.
This year’s edition also introduces an innovative risk-sharing model aimed at supporting galleries facing economic challenges, reinforcing Art Dubai’s long-term commitment to sustaining the region’s cultural ecosystem.
Open to the public with free entry supported by Dubai Culture, Art Dubai 2026 continues to position the UAE as a major global destination for art, innovation, and cross-cultural exchange.
