Rajasthan to Shine Under Nirmala Rawat’s Leadership: Singhania University to Host ‘Asian Para Throwball Championship 2027’

 



Jaipur, May 1: Under the visionary leadership of Nirmala Rawat, President of the World Para Throwball Federation (WPTF), Rajasthan’s sports landscape is set to achieve a historic milestone. Guided by her efforts, Singhania University has been awarded the honor of hosting the third Asian Para Throwball Championship 2027.



A special ceremonial event held in Jaipur marked the signing of the official MoU for this international championship, with Nirmala Rawat personally overseeing the agreement. She was accompanied by WPTF General Secretary Dr. V. Albert Premkumar and Dr. Manoj Kumar, President of Singhania University, to finalize the framework of the upcoming event.




According to Nirmala Rawat’s vision, the championship will not only be a sporting event but will also serve as a grand platform to promote inclusive sports across Asia. Athletes from over 15 countries, including Thailand, Japan, UAE, South Korea, and Vietnam, are expected to participate. The event will be organized in active collaboration with the Para Throwball Federation of India (PTFI), aiming to provide para-athletes with a world-class platform and enhance their recognition on the international stage.




Speaking about the championship, WPTF President Nirmala Rawat said, “This event will open new doors for para-athletes in Asia. Our goal is to showcase the skills of differently-abled players to the world through sports.”






The MoU signing ceremony saw the presence of prominent athletes such as Indian Para Throwball Captain Prashant and international player Malti Inamdar, which further highlighted the significance of the event. Nirmala Rawat’s initiative has created an atmosphere of excitement among players, offering them the opportunity to gain international exposure at the local level



Singhania University had previously demonstrated its capability by successfully hosting the national championship in February 2026. With Nirmala Rawat’s guidance and trust, the university is now set to make its mark on the international stage, positioning Rajasthan to reach new heights in the world of sports.
