UPF’s Community Welfare Initiative Brings Awareness, Dignity and Hope to Women in Jaipur Slum Area

Jaipur. In the narrow lanes of Baba Ramdev Nagar slum area, where many families still struggle daily for basic necessities, Udaiprakash Peace Foundation (UPF) successfully organized a special community welfare program focused on women’s health awareness and humanitarian support.

Conducted under the UPF Shakti and UPF Nourish Initiative, the program included a menstrual hygiene awareness workshop and ration distribution drive for women, adolescent girls, widows, school dropout girls, and underprivileged families.

During the initiative, more than 500 sanitary napkins were distributed. Women and young girls were sensitized about menstrual hygiene, self-care, basic cleanliness, and health awareness through simple and supportive interactions. Alongside this, ration kits were distributed to families living in extremely difficult conditions within the slum area.

Speaking about the initiative, UPF Director Ms. Arzu Sharma said: “For many women, menstrual health is not considered important because survival and running the family come first. Through this session, we wanted them to feel that their health, dignity, and life are equally important.”

The foundation stated that the objective of the program was not just distribution of supplies, but also creating a safe and supportive environment where women could speak openly, learn freely, and feel valued without fear or hesitation.

UPF has been actively working for the last four years in areas such as menstrual hygiene awareness, child education, youth skill development, livelihood support, cancer counseling, food and ration distribution, and various humanitarian welfare activities. The organization shared that its initiatives have directly and indirectly impacted more than 10 lakh people so far.

UPF Director Mr. Yogesh Kumar Sharma expressed gratitude to all volunteers and team members who contributed to the success of the event and appealed to society to support such humanitarian initiatives.

The organization also urged media institutions and journalists to highlight grassroots social work so that more people, organizations, volunteers, and donors come forward to support underprivileged communities.
