The initiative aligns with this year’s theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.”

To mark the upcoming International Day of Yoga, NIA Jaipur organized a vibrant Zumba and Yoga Rally on Friday, spreading the message of healthy living, disease prevention, and holistic wellness among the public. The rally commenced from the NIA campus and proceeded to Badi Chaupar before concluding back at the institute. The event was led by NIA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Sharma and witnessed enthusiastic participation from doctors, faculty members, officials, staff, and students.

Addressing a press conference after the rally, Prof. Sharma emphasized that yoga is not merely a form of physical exercise but a scientific approach to leading a healthy, balanced, and positive life. He highlighted that during the 100-day campaign, NIA Jaipur conducted specialized programs on yoga, stress management, holistic health, and well-being for personnel of the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, BSF, CRPF, CISF, Rajasthan Police, Railways, universities, and various government institutions.

Prof. Sharma further stated that the institute regularly conducts free yoga classes for the public and patients, where trained experts provide customized yoga practices based on individual health conditions and medical needs. These initiatives have significantly increased awareness about yoga and helped many people improve their overall health and well-being.

He reiterated NIA’s commitment to promoting yoga and Ayurveda as effective tools for healthy ageing, preventive healthcare, and holistic wellness. According to him, the institution aims to contribute to the vision of a healthier and disease-free India by taking the message of “Yoga for Healthy Ageing” to every section of society.
