Jaipur, June 12, 2026: Continuous improvement and operational excellence are essential to make India's logistics sector more efficient, cost-effective, and globally competitive, said while addressing the inaugural session of the first edition of the CII Logistics Conclave held in Jaipur.
He highlighted that the Indian logistics industry faces challenges related to transit time, costs, cargo handling, and safety, which impact customer service quality, profitability, and outsourcing capabilities. To address these issues, CII's "Logistics Kaizen Activation" initiative adopts the Japanese Kaizen philosophy, focusing on continuous improvement tailored to India's logistics ecosystem.
Welcoming the participants, emphasized that implementing Logistics Kaizen is also a step toward environmental sustainability. Optimizing supply chains, warehouse layouts, and distribution networks helps reduce carbon footprints and greenhouse gas emissions while creating resilient and sustainable business models. He noted that in today's industrial landscape, "Lean is Green, and Green is Lean."
Speaking on the significance of the conclave, said the event focused on practical implementation, covering key areas such as Logistics Kaizen frameworks, identification of inefficiencies, process standardization, and performance measurement.
During a session on best practices, stressed the growing need for systematic and continuous improvements in logistics operations to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen competitiveness.
Moving beyond awareness, the conclave also emphasized measurable outcomes and industry adoption. To further accelerate this initiative, CII Jaipur and the CII Institute of Logistics announced a 90-day "Activating Logistics Kaizen" program in Rajasthan. The program will support companies through diagnostics, guided implementation, and measurable improvements in productivity, service levels, and operational performance.
Four technical sessions were conducted during the conclave, focusing on supply chain management, foundational logistics practices, sharing of best practices, problem identification and resolution, and implementation methodologies.
In his concluding remarks, said industry experts shared valuable insights into best practices adopted by their organizations to reduce cost and time while improving quality in logistics and supply chain management.
The conclave was attended by more than 100 participants representing warehousing and solar companies, manufacturing units, automotive and auto-component sectors, and various other industries. Certificates of participation were distributed at the end of the program.
