R.D. Baheti Memorial Jaipur District Open Badminton Championship to Begin on June 23 New Scoring System to be Introduced in U-11, U-13, U-15 and U-17 Categories; Free Entry for Players Above 70 Years

 



Jaipur, June 18: The R.D. Baheti Memorial Jaipur District Open Badminton Championship 2026 will be held from June 23 to 29 at the Indoor Badminton Hall of SMS Stadium, Jaipur. The tournament will also serve as the selection event for the Jaipur District Badminton Team.

Addressing a press conference at Hotel Vaesta Maurya, Jaipur District Badminton Association Secretary Manoj Dasot and Pradeep Baheti of the R.D. Baheti Charitable Trust announced that competitions in the Under-11, Under-13, Under-15 and Under-17 categories will be conducted under the newly introduced 15 points × 3 games scoring system recently adopted by the Badminton Association of India.

Pradeep Baheti stated that the championship is being organized in memory of his father, Late R.D. Baheti, who was widely respected as a social worker, sports enthusiast, and humorist. He made significant contributions toward the promotion of sports and encouragement of athletes.

Association Treasurer Atul Gupta informed that K.K. Mathur will serve as the Chief Referee, while Jagdish Khatri and Vikas Mathur will act as Deputy Referees. Dharmaraj Sharma, appointed by the Rajasthan Badminton Association, will serve as the Match Controller.

Secretary Manoj Dasot said that the last date for submitting entries is June 21. Winners and runners-up in all categories will be awarded trophies and certificates. In a special initiative, players aged above 70 years will be exempted from paying the entry fee.

During the press conference, Deepak Sharma was appointed as Advisor to the Jaipur Badminton Association. He was welcomed with a floral garland by Pradeep Baheti, Manoj Dasot, and Alka Batra.

The event was attended by district association patron Rajeev Nagori, Vikas Mathur, Sanjay Bhargava, Pulkit Baheti, Ritu Lohia, Dr. Devendra, and several sports enthusiasts and association officials.
