Fisheries & Home State Minister Jawahar Singh Bedham inaugurates new e-auction portal and IEC material of the Fisheries Department
Jaipur -- On the occasion of World Fisheries Day today, Fisheries & Home State Minister Jawahar Singh Bedham inaugurated the newly developed e-auction portal, licence management system, and the IEC (Information, Education & Communication) material prepared by the Fisheries Department through N.E.M.L. The inauguration took place at his office located in the Ministry Building at the Secretariat.
The Minister said that now the work of the Fisheries Department will also be conducted online. He congratulated the officers of the department for successfully completing this task. Mr. Bedham added that through the e-auction portal, activities such as bidding for fishing contracts, depositing contract amounts, and issuing licences will now be carried out online under the supervision of the department. Initially, the process for the remaining Category ‘A’ and ‘B’ reservoirs will be conducted through the portal. From next year, the department also plans to process tenders for Category ‘C’ and ‘D’ reservoirs through the same portal.
On this occasion, Dr. Samit Sharma, Principal Secretary, Fisheries & Animal Husbandry Department, said that the entire tender process can now be completed with full transparency and within the scheduled timeframe through this portal. He added that the portal will also save significant time in the tendering process. He further informed that the category-wise and district-wise list of remaining Category ‘A’ and ‘B’ reservoirs for the year 2025–26, along with their reserve prices and tender documents, have already been uploaded on the portal.
Fisheries Department Director Sanchita Bishnoi informed that interested bidders are being registered on the portal before participating in the tender process. She also provided detailed information about the portal’s functioning.
During the event, Mr. Bedham also launched pamphlets, posters, booklets, and other IEC material of schemes operated by the Government of India, such as the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samriddhi Sah-Yojana. These IEC materials will be distributed to all departmental offices across the state so that the general public can get information
