Women Entrepreneurs Shine at Shilpkala Mahotsav; Strong Sales Boost Confidence and Livelihoods

 









Jaipur:
The Shilpkala Mahotsav, organized by the Urban Livelihood Centre Institute at the South Wing of Jawahar Kala Kendra, has been attracting a large number of visitors since its commencement on 14 November. Jaipur residents are showing great enthusiasm as artisans and women entrepreneurs from across the country showcase a rich variety of handicrafts, handloom products, jewelry, homemade items, and culturally diverse crafts


A Platform Empowering Women Through Livelihood and Identity
Secretary of Jaipur Urban Livelihood Mission Sanjeev Verma and SHG Coordinator Rajni Meerval shared that the festival has provided a remarkable opportunity for women associated with Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to display and sell their products. They emphasized that such events not only highlight women’s talent but also play a crucial role in strengthening their financial independence and self-confidence.


Women Entrepreneurs Share Their Experience

Many women participating in the festival expressed that the event has become a turning point in their journey toward economic empowerment.



 a handloom artisan, said:“We often struggle to find a market for our handmade products. But here, we are getting excellent footfall and strong sales. I have earned more in the last few days than I usually earn in an entire month. This festival has given me real confidence.”

 who sells homemade pickles and chutneys, shared:
“This platform has given us livelihood and recognition. Customers are appreciating our products, and I am earning good money every day. For women like us, this opportunity means financial security and hope.”




A Showcase of India’s Cultural Diversity

Visitors are enjoying a wide range of products—including handloom fabrics, jewelry, décor items, modern crafts, traditional art, and natural products—brought by artisans and weavers from different states.




The festival offers Jaipur residents a unique chance to explore and purchase diverse traditional goods under one roof.

The event is open daily from 11 AM to 9 PM, with free entry, and will continue until 28 December.
