Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ) celebrated Constitution Day on Tuesday with immense enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The event was graced by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla as the Chief Guest, who administered the Constitution Pledge to the students, emphasizing the importance of upholding the Constitution in everyday life.
The ceremony witnessed an impressive gathering of students, faculty members, and dignitaries. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Neeti Nipun Sharma addressed the audience, highlighting MUJ’s academic achievements, the global contributions of its students and alumni, and the university’s continuous efforts in fostering research and innovation. She urged students to actively contribute to nation-building while embracing ethical and constitutional values.
Alongside Om Birla, Jaipur MP Manju Sharma was also present, lending further significance to the occasion. Speaking on the importance of constitutional literacy, Birla stressed that respecting and following the Constitution is the duty of every citizen. He said, “Understanding the Constitution is essential for building a developed India. The ‘Nation First’ mindset among today’s youth will drive the country forward.”
Birla further informed that steps are being taken in Parliament to introduce Constitution-related courses in schools and universities, aiming to enhance civic awareness and constitutional knowledge among citizens.
The Lok Sabha Speaker also praised MUJ’s world-class infrastructure, innovation-driven environment, and research capabilities, describing the university as a future hub for addressing global challenges through innovative solutions. Following the ceremony, Birla inaugurated a state-of-the-art gymnasium at the MUJ campus, highlighting the institution’s commitment to holistic development.
MP Manju Sharma emphasized that while citizens enjoy their rights, it is equally important to fulfill one’s duties and uphold moral values. MLA Dr. Kailash Chand Verma also lauded MUJ for empowering local youth and contributing to community development and employment generation.
The event concluded on a high note, reinforcing the significance of the Constitution, civic responsibility, and the “Nation First” spirit among the younger generation.
MP Manju Sharma remarked that duties and values are as important as rights, while MLA Dr. Kailash Chand Verma appreciated MUJ’s role in offering employment opportunities and contributing to community development.
