Kuchaman (Rajasthan):
The 5th Rajasthan Soft Hockey State Championship 2025 was formally inaugurated today at the cricket ground of Dildhani Institute of Technical Education, Dildhani, in Makrana of Didwana–Kuchaman district. The opening ceremony marked the beginning of a major state-level sporting event aimed at promoting soft hockey and nurturing emerging talent across Rajasthan.
The inaugural function was graced by Dr. Aditya Nag as the Chief Guest, while the ceremony was presided over by Shri Ashok Kumar, District Pracharak, Didwana–Kuchaman. Shri Dilip Singh Rathore and Shri Harshvardhan from the Dildhani Education Group were present as special guests.
Adding prominence to the occasion, senior office-bearers and officials of the sport were also present, including Shri Ramesh Singh, General Secretary of the Amateur Soft Hockey Federation of India; Shri Harjinder Singh Brar, Coach of the Indian Soft Hockey Team; Shri Inderjeet Singh Shekhawat, Manager of the Indian Team; and Shri Harshit Yadav, Technical Chairman of the Amateur Soft Hockey Federation of India.
Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries highlighted the growing importance of soft hockey and emphasized that sports play a vital role in shaping discipline, dedication, teamwork and a sense of patriotism among players. They noted that sports are not merely a means of physical fitness but also a powerful tool for character building and developing a positive outlook on life.
The state championship has witnessed enthusiastic participation from teams representing nearly 15 districts of Rajasthan, competing across Senior, Junior and Sub-Junior categories. Players from different regions have begun showcasing their skills and competitive spirit at the well-equipped cricket ground of the Dildhani Education Group.
According to the organizing committee, the championship is a significant initiative towards strengthening the grassroots development of soft hockey in the state and providing a competitive platform for young and aspiring players to prove their potential.
The event is expected to further boost the popularity of soft hockey in Rajasthan and inspire youth to actively engage in sports for holistic development.
