The Regional Office of the National Statistical Office (NSO), Jaipur, organised a one-day regional training programme on December 29, 2025, at the State Institute of Agricultural Management (SIAM), Durgapura, Jaipur. The programme was conducted in connection with the Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises (ASUSE–2026) and the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS–2026).
The programme was attended by Hardeep Singh Chopra, Deputy Director General, Zonal Office, Jaipur, as the chief guest. The session was chaired by Hansraj Yadav, Deputy Director General, Regional Office, Jaipur.
Addressing the participants, Hansraj Yadav stated that the objective of the training programme was to collect accurate and reliable data on unorganised enterprises and unemployment, which plays a vital role in the country’s socio-economic development. He added that the data collected through these surveys forms the basis for policy formulation by the government.
Senior Statistical Officers, Survey Supervisors and Survey Enumerators from the Sub-Regional Offices of Jaipur, Alwar, Kota and Sriganganagar participated in the programme. A quiz competition related to survey methodologies and schemes was also organised during the event, and the winners were felicitated.
During the training session, Shalini Shekhawat, Officer-in-Charge of the Sub-Regional Office, Alwar, and Assistant Director, along with Ajay Kumar Meena, Senior Statistical Officer from the Zonal Office, Jaipur, provided detailed training to the participants. They informed that the National Statistical Office has been serving the nation since 1950 and conducts surveys of unorganised sector enterprises and labour force using scientific methodologies. The office collects data as per the requirements of various ministries and the government, which supports evidence-based policy decisions.
The programme was also attended by Lalit Mohan Sharma, Assistant Director, Jaipur; Shalini Shekhawat, Assistant Director, Alwar; Rahul Bagariya, Assistant Director, Sriganganagar; Jyoti Sindhalia, Assistant Director; Kaushal Kishore, Assistant Director, Zonal Office, Jaipur; and Santosh Kumar, Assistant Director, Zonal Office, Jaipur, along with other officials and staff members.
It was informed that the survey period for ASUSE–2026 and PLFS–2026 will remain from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026
