Rajasthan’s young shooting sensation Lavanya Kanwar, just 14 years old, has created history at the 68th National Shooting Championship 2025 by delivering an extraordinary performance in pistol events. Winning a total of seven medals — 1 Gold, 4 Silver, and 2 Bronze — Lavanya has proudly raised Rajasthan’s flag on the national stage and earned the title of “Pistol Queen of Rajasthan.”
The prestigious championship is being held in New Delhi from December 11, 2024, to January 4, 2025, featuring India’s top shooters. Amid intense national-level competition, Lavanya’s performance stood out as a remarkable display of talent, discipline, and determination.
Double Silver in 25m Pistol on Debut
One of the highlights of her achievement was her debut in the 25m Pistol event, where she stunned everyone by securing two silver medals in her very first appearance. Along with this, she excelled across multiple pistol categories, finishing the championship with an impressive medal tally of seven.
Result of Hard Work and Discipline
Lavanya trains at Jaipur’s renowned Eklavya Sports Shooting Academy, where she practices 5–6 hours daily under the guidance of her coach Yogesh Shekhawat. Her coach revealed that Lavanya has already won several medals at the School National Games and Pre-National levels, and her current success reflects focused high-performance training.
“Our entire focus is on Lavanya’s high-performance development. Her success is the result of relentless practice, discipline, and mental strength,” said coach Yogesh Shekhawat.
