India-based food startup The Tasty Millets formally launched its latest product, Millet Poha, unveiled by Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan during the Convocation Ceremony of Chaudhary Charan Singh National Institute of Agricultural Marketing (CCS NIAM), Jaipur.
The startup was invited to showcase its portfolio of ready-to-eat millet-based products at the ceremony. The official unveiling of Millet Poha by the Hon’ble Minister marked a significant milestone in the company’s mission to promote millets as a nutritious and convenient food choice for modern consumers.
The Tasty Millets is incubated under the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Foundation (IEF) of CCS NIAM, which provides mentorship, infrastructure support, and ecosystem access to emerging agribusiness ventures. The startup has also received grant approval under RKVY RAFTAAR (Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana – RAFTAAR), a flagship initiative of the Government of India aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in agriculture and allied sectors.
Founded with the objective of making nutritious food both accessible and convenient, The Tasty Millets develops ready-to-eat meals that require only the addition of hot water and approximately five minutes of preparation. These products cater to the growing demand for healthy, quick meal options among working professionals, travellers, and urban consumers.
The company sources millets from key millet-producing regions across India, ensuring consistent quality while contributing to a resilient and sustainable millet ecosystem. This sourcing strategy aligns with national efforts to promote climate-resilient and nutritionally rich grains.
Millet Poha has been positioned as a millet-based alternative to conventional ready-to-eat breakfast products, blending traditional Indian flavours with modern processing techniques for enhanced convenience. The product is currently available for purchase through the company’s official website, expanding its reach to consumers across the country.
The product was presented to the Hon’ble Minister by Harshita Agrawal, Founder of The Tasty Millets, who represented the startup at the convocation ceremony and interacted with the Chief Guest. Her participation highlighted the founder-led vision and innovation-driven approach of the company in the millet-based food segment.
The launch represents a major step forward for The Tasty Millets, backed by institutional incubation and national-level grant support, as it continues to develop convenient and nutritious products aligned with evolving consumer preferences and India’s broader mission to strengthen its agrifood ecosystem.
