Jaipur, February 5:
WeCan Schools marked two decades of its educational journey with a landmark celebration at the Birla Auditorium, Jaipur, bringing together public representatives, senior civil servants, educators, social sector leaders, parents, alumni and students. The event focused on the role of education in creating equitable opportunities and preparing future generations for a rapidly changing world.
The programme opened with a specially curated exhibition at the auditorium foyer, showcasing WeCan Schools’ 20-year journey through five thematic stations. The exhibition highlighted the institution’s origins, its emphasis on modern and future-ready education, commitment to girls’ education, focus on moral and civic values, and its long-term roadmap under Vision 2045. The exhibition received wide appreciation from visitors for its clarity and strong narrative.
A stage performance titled “Equal Dreams” followed, depicting the story of a young girl from an underserved neighbourhood and reinforcing the message that access to quality education is a necessity rather than a privilege. The skit drew strong emotional responses from the audience and echoed the core theme of equal opportunity.
The highlight of the evening was the Founder’s Address by Mr. Aqueel Khan, titled “Designing Opportunity Through Education.” In his address, Mr. Khan stressed that while talent is universal, access to education is not, and that educational systems must be intentionally designed to bridge this gap. He reflected on WeCan Schools’ decision to work in underserved areas while maintaining high academic standards.
During the event, WeCan Schools formally launched its Vision 2045 document, outlining its strategic priorities for the next two decades. The vision focuses on equity by design, future-ready learning, teacher development, girls’ education, moral and civic education, and preparing students for an uncertain future.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. S. M. Shah, Director, WeCan Schools and former RAS officer. The event was anchored by Ms. Vandana Joshi, Principal of WeCan High School, and concluded with the school anthem “We Can, We Will.”
The celebration marked not only 20 years of WeCan Schools’ journey but also contributed meaningfully to the broader dialogue on education, equity and nation-building. The event received an encouraging response from attendees and media representatives.
