Jaipur: HVRDC on Monday demonstrated the HVRDC Centre for Advanced Electric Mobility Systems, established at Government Ramchandra Khaitan Polytechnic College, Jaipur, before a panel of senior Rajasthan government officials. The programme was inaugurated by Neelabh Saxena, Commissioner, Industries & Commerce and CSR, Government of Rajasthan.
During the programme, HVRDC’s patented portable EV charging technology was unveiled by chief guest Neelabh Saxena. The indigenous technology is based on the concept of taking charging to the electric vehicle instead of taking the vehicle to a charging station. The technology is being seen as a significant step towards making EV charging more mobile, accessible and flexible, with potential to contribute to the future of EV charging infrastructure.
HVRDC demonstrated three key technologies at the programme, including a hands-on EV laboratory, practical models based on electric vehicle technology, and a patented portable charging unit. The panel also included Surgyani Sharma, Deputy Secretary, Technical Education Department, and Dr. Avinash Panwar, Director, Centre for Electronic Governance.
The EV laboratory has been designed to enable students and trainees to understand the complete flow of energy in an electric vehicle through practical learning. The charger, battery cells, motor controller, throttle and hub motor have been arranged in the same sequence as the flow of energy inside an electric vehicle. An IoT unit was also demonstrated to show how live vehicle data can be transmitted over the internet.
HVRDC also demonstrated practical models related to electric vehicle technology. These included key components such as hub motors, battery packs, controllers and throttles, which were used to explain the functioning of electric vehicles and the flow of energy. The models provide students with an opportunity to understand electric mobility systems through real hardware.
A key feature of the patented portable charging unit is that the charging unit can be taken to the vehicle, eliminating the need to move the vehicle to a designated charging point. The technology could be particularly useful for drivers and fleet operators working away from fixed charging locations. It has the potential to support the development of a mobile and on-demand EV charging ecosystem, rather than limiting EV charging infrastructure to permanent charging stations.
Under the leadership of HVRDC Founder and CEO Akash Kumar Kirori, Mentor Sanjay Kumar Jha (Retired IPS), Mentor Anand Kumar Kirori, and Executive Director Shivansh Jha, the HVRDC Centre for Advanced Electric Mobility Systems is being developed as a centre for electric mobility training, research and practical learning.
According to HVRDC, the objective of the centre is to go beyond simply demonstrating electric vehicle technology and provide students and trainees with practical knowledge through real hardware. The initiative is aligned with the objectives of the Rajasthan Electric Vehicle Policy 2022 and aims to promote industry-led EV Centres of Excellence as well as EV awareness and maintenance training at the polytechnic and ITI levels.
HVRDC Electric is a Jaipur-based electric mobility startup established in 2023. The company works in areas including electric vehicle rentals, portable EV charging, battery swapping, EV skill development, and research and consulting related to electric mobility. The HVRDC Centre for Advanced Electric Mobility Systems includes an EV laboratory, hands-on learning components and practical training modules focused on electric mobility.
