Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma’s unique initiative to promote traditional farming and cattle conservation Annual financial assistance of ₹30,000 for small and marginal farmers using bullocks for farming Online application process underway on the Raj Kisan Saathi portal; over 42,000 applications received so far

Jaipur, 21 November. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the State Government has taken several important and welfare-oriented decisions in the interest of farmers, resulting in continuous improvement in the agriculture sector and the economic empowerment of farmers.

As part of these efforts, the government has launched a special initiative to provide an annual incentive of ₹30,000 to selected small and marginal farmers who use bullocks for farming. The objective is to promote traditional and organic farming practices, encourage the conservation of indigenous cattle breeds, and strengthen farmers financially.

Due to the increasing use of modern agricultural machinery, the importance of bullocks in farming has declined over time, adversely affecting their conservation. The incentive declared by the government will not only encourage the use of bullocks but also contribute to improving soil fertility and environmental protection.

Subsidy for Gobar Gas Plants
Along with the incentive amount, the State Government will also provide a subsidy for installing gobar gas plants for farmers using bullocks for farming. This will help reduce agricultural costs, promote the use of clean energy, and increase the availability of organic manure, thereby encouraging organic farming. Farmers will be able to prepare manure on their own fields and increase productivity.

Database of farmers being prepared
The Agriculture Department is preparing a database of farmers using bullocks for agriculture, based on which eligible farmers will be selected and provided financial assistance. So far, over 42,000 applications have been received across the state, with the highest number from Dungarpur, Banswara, and Udaipur. The online application process is currently active on the Raj Kisan Saathi Portal.
