Jaipur, 21 November. Minister of State for Cooperation (Independent Charge) Shri Gautam Kumar Dak said that the state government is taking significant steps to ensure that cooperative societies start business activities in line with market demand and become economically strong and competitive. Under the International Year of Cooperatives–2025, various innovations and activities are being undertaken by the Cooperation Department to strengthen cooperative societies economically. As part of this campaign, the newly launched ‘Jana:-Upahar Super Market’ in Vaishali Nagar, Jaipur, is an important initiative.
Shri Dak on Friday inaugurated the ‘Jana:-Upahar Super Market’, launched through a joint venture of the Rajasthan State Cooperative Consumer Federation (CONFED) and the National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India (NCCF). He inspected the super market and reviewed the range of products. Shri Dak said that under the International Year of Cooperatives, this super market—operated jointly by a national cooperative body (NCCF) and a state-level cooperative body (CONFED)—offers ‘Jana:’ brand organic products and ‘Upahar’ brand spices and millet-based products. These quality items will now be available to consumers at fair prices under one roof. He added that this cooperative initiative will ensure farmers get fair prices for their produce and provide them with a better platform for marketing their goods.
The Minister said that under the vision of “Prosperity through Cooperation,” cooperative societies from the national to the rural level are being encouraged to start modern and relevant activities to become economically strong. In line with the vision of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma and the state government’s budget announcements, special focus is being laid on opening millet outlets through cooperative institutions. So far, 201 millet outlets have been opened across the state—nearly six times more than the initial target.
On this occasion, Additional Registrar (First) and Managing Director of CONFED, Smt. Shilpi Pandey; State Head of NCCF, Smt. Madhu Sharma; and officers and employees of the Cooperation Department and cooperative institutions were present.
