Actress Lakshmi Surana, who plays the role of Farhan Akhtar’s mother in the film 120 Bahadur, described the experience as incredibly enriching. Speaking to the media during the film’s promotion at Rajmandir Cinema, she said that portraying such a layered and emotional character helped her learn many fine nuances of acting and explore new creative depths.
In the film, Farhan Akhtar portrays the real-life hero Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, and Lakshmi appears as his mother. Lakshmi has earlier showcased her strong acting abilities in the Netflix series The Royals and the film Daku Maharaj.
Sharing details about the film, Lakshmi said that 120 Bahadur highlights the historic bravery displayed during the Rezang La battle of the 1962 India–China War, where only 120 Indian soldiers, under the leadership of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, courageously held their ground against nearly 3,000 Chinese troops. The film beautifully captures patriotism, emotion, and the heroic saga of these 120 brave hearts.
Speaking about her journey in acting, Lakshmi shared that she began her artistic path eight years ago. She had a deep interest in acting and dance since childhood, which led her to join theatre, where she worked in several renowned stage productions.
