Jaipur, January 24:
The sixth edition of the CII-AU Invitation Golf Cup, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), concluded successfully on Saturday at the historic Rambagh Golf Club, Jaipur. The prestigious tournament ended with a prize distribution ceremony, marking the culmination of a highly competitive and well-participated sporting event.
The tournament was played in the Stableford format across multiple handicap categories, including Men, Women and Veterans (60+). Around 100 participants from diverse backgrounds, including professional golfers, bureaucrats, senior officials and industry leaders, participated in the event, reflecting the strong engagement of the corporate and administrative fraternity in promoting sportsmanship.
At the closing ceremony, Vishal Baid was awarded the Best CII Golfer Trophy for his outstanding performance. Several other golfers were also felicitated for their achievements in different categories. K.C. Goyal won the Blind Fold Monster title, while the Closest to the Pin award was presented to Dr. Zoheb Naqvi. The Best Lady Golfer honour was secured by Vimi Bhatia, and Kamal Bordia was awarded the Best Veteran Golfer (60+) title.
Impressive performances were witnessed across all handicap groups. In the Handicap 18–24 category, Avinish Kasliwal emerged as the winner, with Gaurav Mohan Mathur finishing as the runner-up. In the Handicap 13–17 category, Vikas Rajoria claimed the winner’s title, followed by Vibhor Agrawal as runner-up. In the Handicap 0–12 category, Gaurav Swami secured first position, while Bharat Raturi stood second.
The event was graced by several eminent dignitaries, including Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, South Western Command; Mr. Gaurav Rungta, Former Chairman, CII Rajasthan; Mr. Rajneesh Bhandari, Vice Chairman, CII Rajasthan State Council; Mr. Nitin Gupta, Senior Director and Head, CII Rajasthan; Mr. Shivam Talwar, Managing Director, Danish Pvt. Ltd.; and Mr. Manish Gupta, Chairman, INA Solar, along with other distinguished guests.
All dignitaries congratulated the winners and runners-up and presented trophies across various categories. They also appreciated the initiative taken by CII in promoting sports, healthy competition and networking among industry leaders, officials and professionals through such events.
