Manipal University Jaipur Signs Historic Dual Degree Agreement with University of Melbourne

 



Jaipur, February 28, 2026: In a significant step toward strengthening global academic collaboration and expanding international learning opportunities, Manipal University Jaipur has signed a historic Dual Degree agreement with Australia’s prestigious University of Melbourne in the Faculty of Science.

The agreement was formalized during an official ceremony held at the Manipal University Jaipur campus in the presence of senior leadership from both institutions, faculty members, and distinguished guests.

Under this collaboration, students enrolled in science programs will have the opportunity to pursue an integrated curriculum across both universities. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be awarded degrees from both institutions. The dual degree structure will provide students with international academic exposure, access to advanced laboratories and research facilities, a multicultural learning environment, enhanced global employability, and opportunities for joint research and faculty exchange.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Karunakara A. Koteghar, Pro-President of Manipal University Jaipur, described the agreement as a transformative milestone. He stated, “This partnership marks a significant advancement in our commitment to internationalization and academic excellence. The dual degree program will empower our students with global competencies and research-driven education.”

Professor Vila Huston, Associate Dean (Global Engagement) at the University of Melbourne, also expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration. She said, “We are delighted to partner in this initiative. The program will foster academic mobility, innovation, and long-term institutional cooperation.”

Initially, the program will focus on major science disciplines including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, and Data Science, with potential expansion into interdisciplinary and research-based programs in the future.

University officials noted that this partnership aligns with Manipal University Jaipur’s strategic vision of global engagement, academic excellence, and industry-relevant education. The first batch of students is expected to commence the program in the academic session 2026–27.

The agreement is regarded as a significant step in strengthening academic ties between India and Australia, paving the way for deeper institutional collaboration and broader global opportunities for students.
