Jaipur: With the aim of promoting sports talent and encouraging a spirit of healthy competition among young athletes, the 13th Jaipur District Open Roller Skating Championship 2026 was grandly organised by the Jaipur District Roller Skating Association on Sunday at Kapil Gyanpeeth School, Mansarovar. Around 300 to 350 skaters from Jaipur and nearby regions enthusiastically participated in the championship, while teams from more than 50 schools showcased their skills and sporting excellence.
The championship venue witnessed an energetic and vibrant atmosphere from the very beginning. Young skaters dressed in colorful sports kits displayed remarkable speed, balance, and confidence on the track. Parents, coaches, and sports enthusiasts gathered in large numbers to cheer for the participants and motivate them throughout the event.
Organizer Shahbaz Siddiqui informed that the competition included participants from Under-4 to Under-18 age categories in both Quads and Inline skating events. Skaters delivered impressive performances across different race categories, making the competition highly exciting and competitive. Several races turned out to be thrilling as participants competed neck-to-neck for top positions.
Delivering an outstanding overall performance, the JPIS School Mahapura team emerged as the championship winner and earned the title of Overall Champion. The skaters impressed everyone with their discipline, speed, determination, and technical skills. Winners credited their success to their coaches, schools, and supportive parents.
The event was graced by chief guests Mamta Sharma, Sunny Kapoor, Sarlesh Rana, and Pandit Rajendra Mandiya. The guests felicitated winners and participants with medals, trophies, and certificates, while also extending their best wishes for the athletes’ bright futures.
Addressing the gathering, the guests said that sports are not only about winning or losing but also about building discipline, confidence, leadership, and a strong personality. They emphasized that roller skating helps children improve concentration, body balance, and physical fitness while also opening opportunities at national and international levels.
The championship also highlighted the importance of encouraging children to actively participate in sports from an early age. The enthusiasm and confidence displayed by young skaters became one of the major attractions of the event. Many children participated in a competition for the first time, while experienced skaters impressed the audience with their advanced techniques and racing abilities.
The organizing committee expressed gratitude to all participants, coaches, parents, schools, and supporters for making the championship successful. The committee also reaffirmed its commitment to organizing more such sporting events in the future to provide a larger platform for budding athletes.
